Christie Refugee Welcome Centre invites you to learn more about refugees, donate needed items, participate in a community project or volunteer in one of our programs.

Donate items needed by refugees:

Gently used clothing in good condition
Household items such as dishes, pots and pans, cutlery, kitchen items
Hygiene products (e.g. soap, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, toothbrushes, toothpaste)

Participate in a Community Project!

Families, youth groups, churches and schools can support us through the following initiatives:

Back Packs filled with school supplies
Baby Baskets – filled for newborns
Hosting special events
Bed in a bag – a comforter, sheet set, pillow and towel

Volunteers provide support in the following areas:

the kitchen
the computer room
the clothing room
tutoring in the homework club, and in English for the children and adults
the Summer Camp and
with assistance with weekly and monthly events.

complete a Volunteer Application
provide a satisfactory police reference check
attend a volunteer orientation session within 3 months of joining the volunteer team
